HAPPY 50th MOM!

My (Anna) mom turned 50 on January 29th. We have been giving her such a hard time about being "old." She actually doesn't really care so it wasn't as fun making fun of her as we all hoped. Last weekend, the weekend of the 25th, all of the "kids" showed up to cook mom a dinner of her choice. My family is big on big dinners and for each of our birthday's Mom cooks us whatever we want, makes us whatever cake we want, and our whole family gathers around the table to do one of the things we do best...EAT. Mom decided she wanted homemade hamburgers and salad. So we made the beef patties and had almost every hamburger topping you could want. We also had salad. It was a lot of fun, I know Mom LOVES having all of the kids and grandkids home and because we all live close we can make it happen quite often.
On my Mom's actual birthday her work did this whole big thing for her. When she got to work there was a cane with a horn and mirror waiting for her. They also got her a grab bag of "old people stuff" like a diaper, prunes, and a bunch of other interesting things. She sent me a picture that one of her friends took and I am going to attach it below. Happy Birthday again Mom, you are such a wonderful and giving person and we love you!
