FINALLY we get to swing!

The last 2 weekends we have wanted to take Jackson to a park to swing all by himself for the first time. Each time we would try to go it would get really windy and or rainy. So we wake up today to decent weather and decide we will go out after his nap. As soon as we pulled out of the driveway the rain started. Ugh! So we ran some of our other errands, then went and got coffee and tea. Next thing you know the sun is out and it's beautiful! So we head to Grant Park and finally, Jackson got to swing. I think it was just as fun for Mommy and Daddy. :-) Since it was so nice we just HAD to stay and play awhile!

One of his favorite toys to chew on

Jackson has become a side sleeper. As soon as we lay him down and rolls on his side and falls right to sleep!

Smiley boy

Getting stronger and stronger...
Then he will see something he wants and dives for it. (Usually his feet)

Big Boy Car seat

We got Jackson's big boy car seat in January but he didn't start using it until last weekend. We wanted to get as much use out of infant seat as possible, and wanted to give Jackson a little more time to feel more confidant in sitting up. And perhaps Mama was not wanting to accept that her sweet baby was growing out of his infant seat. ;-)

Jackson loves his new seat. If he is awake he is kicking his feet to hear the "swishy" sound it makes as his legs rub against the seat. He will be in this car seat until he is a big big boy and only needs the little booster.

Haydee Mahal Everett

My big brother is a Daddy again! Last night Jesse and Frankie welcomed Beautiful Haydee Mahal into the world. She weighed 8lbs 3oz and was 19in long! Haydee was born on her Daddy's birthday, he couldn't ask for a better birthday I am sure! She is a sweet little girl and we are delighted to have her join our family!

I love this photo, everyone is smiling! What a beautiful family!

Sweet Dreams, Little Man

We have a playlist that plays in Jackson's room at the beginning of nap and bedtime. The playlist has about 10 songs. One of my favorites on the list is called, "Godspeed (Sweet Dreams)" by The Dixie Chicks. It's a perfect "little man" lullaby. The playlist usually starts with "Come thou fount of every blessing" from our friend's CD but there have been a few times that I have put this song on and rocked Jackson before bedtime or when he has needed some down time/ snuggle with Mama time. Now every once in awhile I will hear the violin part of the song over the monitor and I immediately think of rocking my sweet little man. Here are the lyrics of the song...

Dragon tales and the water is wide
Pirate's sail and lost boys fly
Fish bite moonbeams every night
And I love you

Godspeed, little man
Sweet dreams, little man
Oh, my love will fly to you each night on angels wings
Godspeed
Sweet Dreams

The rocket racer's all tuckered out
Superman's in pajamas on the couch
Goodnight moon, will find the mouse
And I love you

Godspeed, little man
Sweet dreams, little man
Oh, my love will fly to you each night on angels wings
Godspeed
Sweet Dreams

God bless Mommy and match box cars
God bless Dad and thanks for the stars
God hears "Amen," wherever we are
And I love you

Godspeed, little man
Sweet dreams, little man
Oh, my love will fly to you each night on Angels wings
Godspeed
Godspeed
Godspeed
Sweet Dreams

5 months old!

Our sweet boy is 5 months old already! It's amazing to see how much Jackson has developed and changed since he was born. He is becoming such a big boy! A few weeks ago, Jackson started sitting up for about 30 seconds at a time. Most of the time he ends up trying to eat his feet or gets excited and throws himself back, but we are so proud of him!

A lot of people ask me what his sleep schedule looks like. He sleeps from about 8:00pm until 6:30am, eats, then sleeps again until about 8:30am. During the day he sleeps from 10:00am- 12:00 then takes another nap around 2:00pm and will sleep until 4:30 or 5:00. He is definitely a kid who likes his sleep. Every once in a while we will have a day where he wakes up a few times during nap time but it's nothing the good ol' binkie can't solve! :-)

Jackson still doesn't have any teeth, a lot of people ask if he has teeth yet. I don't mind him not having teeth yet for sure. :-) You would think they are just around the corner with how much he drools and chews on things but he really hasn't seemed to uncomfortable yet so we will see what happens!

All in all, Jackson is a very happy baby and we never get enough of his big smiles, laughs, or loud squeals/screams. He has definitely discovered his voice.

Here are a few recent photos!

A fun night with James

Last Wednesday our Nephew, James stayed the night with us. We watched Wall-E and made Oreo milkshakes and then on Thursday we hung out, played games, and hit up Starbucks! We love our sweet nephew and had a great time!
